Whatever be your business, showcasing all the products is of utmost importance. This was a challenge for SME’s that do not have a web presence, and are increasingly using private social platforms for interacting with their customers but could not share the list of products which was vast.
As WhatsApp partnered with CII TechSaksham it introduced a feature where SME’s could utilize product catalogs in their WhatsApp Business listings and provide more information about, and images of, the items that they provide.
As stated by WhatsApp
“Catalogs are a mobile storefront for businesses to showcase and share their goods so people can easily browse and discover something they would like to buy. Previously businesses had to send product photos one at a time and repeatedly provide information — now customers can see their full catalog right within WhatsApp. This makes business owners look more professional and keeps customers engaged in the chat without having to visit a website.”
To enable easy sharing of already created catalogues, WhatsApp has provided a Catalog button in the sharing menu. How to get started with the feature has been detailed in a video.
This has attracted several small and medium businesses (SMBs) to the WhatsApp Business platform. It has attracted companies like UrbanClap, Goibibo, MakeMyTrip, RedBus, Eat.Fit, Oven Story and many more.
